{"id":7452,"date":"2021-04-09T11:12:14","date_gmt":"2021-04-09T09:12:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kreatortest.com\/fizika\/?page_id=7452"},"modified":"2024-02-11T10:17:45","modified_gmt":"2024-02-11T09:17:45","slug":"third-study-cycle","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/fizika.pmf.unsa.ba\/eng\/third-study-cycle\/","title":{"rendered":"Third Cycle of Studies"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]At the Department of physics, the third cycle of studies lasts six semesters and comprises 180 ECTS.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=&#8221;Doctoral Studies in Physics&#8221; use_theme_fonts=&#8221;yes&#8221;][vc_column_text]Holders of a master\u2019s degree in physics are eligible to enroll in the \u201cDoctoral studies in physics&#8221; program, but only if their GPA in the first and second cycle of studies was above 7.5 out of 10, and if they submit a recommendation letter of a potential PhD supervisor.<\/p>\n<p>By choosing from four categories of elective courses, the students may deepen their knowledge in one of the following areas of physics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics<\/li>\n<li>High Energy Physics<\/li>\n<li>Condensed Matter Physics<\/li>\n<li>Applied Physics<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>During the first year of studies, students attend one obligatory and five elective courses, out of which at least three courses are from the field of the envisaged doctoral dissertation. Remaining two courses can be chosen from any other field, in accordance with the topic of the doctoral dissertation and personal preferences of the student. At the beginning of the studies, students together with their supervisors, choose elective courses that will help them to prepare and defend their doctoral dissertation in the best way possible. During the second and the third year of studies, students conduct activities related to preparation and defense of their doctoral dissertation. All classes are in Bosnian\/Serbian\/Croatian and\/or English.
